Alt★Hero #1: Crackdown is now available on Amazon for Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
When Captain Europa offers Janelle Jeanneret a recruitment deal she can’t refuse, the French model doesn’t hesitate to sign up with the Global Justice Initiative. After all, they’re providing her with a killer apartment in Brussels, a new outfit, and even a flashy new name, in addition to paying her an awful lot of money… and it’s even tax-free! But is there a catch? And how is a group of superhumans based in Europe going to go about establishing global justice anyway?
Alt★Hero is the first in an exciting new line of superhero comics from Arkhaven Comics.
We anticipate getting the French, Italian, and German digital editions out next week, after they go out to the backers. The Comixology edition should be the week following, with the limited edition gold logo print editions being published the week after that. The foreign language editions will also be published in print.
From the early reviews:
Bought this, read this, liked this.
Will definitely buy the next issue.
And, btw, I’m a bit of a ‘leftist’. Not modern SJW loonie type. Imagine influenced by 60s people so yes for social progress but not for the insane parody extreme.
What I do love is a good story. This has a good story. It’s clearly to cater to the “Alt Right” but good and interesting. De-constructing without being destructive.
I like Super heroes but they’d gotten stagnant due to monopolistic companies and the “Comics Code”. This created a deconstructive push (starting with “Underground” comics) that was good in some areas (Frank Miller – Daredevil, Batman TDKR, Marshall Law, Watchmen) but also got pure destructive and nihilistic. The big companies then fed off of nostalgia for 70s era stuff most current writers/artists grew up on and then turned purely into market tested product… And modern P.C. mutated into the hyper “Triggered” types are good at reacting and being manipulated by “Market tested corporate product” so they created the modern …. whatever that pretends to be modern comics. Some exceptions like the latter issues of “Prophet” with Graham and others, but most “Meh” or latest “Crisis/secret/crossover” or “Re-Boot/birth/gurgitate” or…etc.
Well, that’s a good medium for a reaction, a revolution, etc.
The biggest and only advice I give is this; make sure it is a good STORY. I don’t mean “Plot, conflict, twist, resolution”… I mean make sure it is fun to read and the message weaved into the story, not just a blunt object, though a blunt object done right is good also.
When is the CBR version available? I don’t have a Kindle, you see.
